H2Oh!
Exhibit

H2Oh!

H2Oh! is temporarily closed for renovations and will reopen in early summer.

Opened May 30, 2026 Encourages visitors of all ages to discover how water shapes our world and nourishes living things that make Western PA—and Planet Earth—their home.

The immersive exhibit strives to answer the following questions for visitors:

How does water shape our world?

What lives in these waters, nests in these banks, and grows on these shores?

What impact does my community have on the river? What impact does my family have? What impact do I have – personally, (and, for the next generation of Pittsburghers), through my choices?

Activities include:

Rooftop Infrared Camera – Rooftop infrared cameras capture river surface temperatures as well as temperatures of downtown buildings.

Virtual Watershed – Create virtual hills and valleys with sand, make it “rain,” and then observe the behavior of the virtual streams, lakes, and pools that are created.

Bernoulli Beach Balls – Make beach balls float on air instead of water. It’s not magic—it’s science!

Field Station – See live animals who call this region their home, such as fish, turtles, snakes, and frogs.

Get Ready to Dive Headfirst into All Things H2Oh.

Children and adults will enjoy stunning views of Pittsburgh’s three rivers inside the exhibition gallery, while gaining a deeper appreciation for water conservation. Pittsburgh’s waterways are a vital resource, and with global water access affecting one in eight people, this exhibit is a reminder to be mindful of our water usage in everyday life. Located in the Covestro Gallery, H2Oh! is the perfect place for science exploration in Pittsburgh.
