Science of Speed kart racing is closed today, Tues., Aug. 11, as our team takes a weekly pit stop. Although kart racing is unavailable, explore STEM-based racing exhibits in the Science of Speed building.

Adult and Junior Kart racing tickets are sold out for Mon., Aug. 10.

Wave Italy Formula 1 Simulator

Immerse yourself in one of the most authentic Formula 1 racing simulators available. Featuring a cutting-edge motion platform, force-feedback steering, and a full cockpit modeled after a real F1 car, you’ll experience every acceleration, braking zone, and corner with incredible realism. Choose from iconic race circuits around the world and customize your difficulty level — from beginner to professional — for an unforgettable racing experience.

Know Before You Race

The Wave Italy F1 Simulator is an immersive, full-motion experience designed to replicate the physical sensations of Formula 1 racing.

For your safety, this experience is not recommended for visitors who:

Are pregnant
Have heart, neck, or back conditions
Experience motion sickness
Are under the influence of alcohol or other substances

Please note: Simulator experiences are available for purchase onsite during the day and are sold separately from Science Center General Admission and Science of Speed kart racing. The Wave Italy F1 Simulator is available for online reservations for adults-only (18+) evening experiences, Thursday-Saturday (online ticketing available soon).

When the Sun goes down, the track shifts gears. Evening sessions deliver a high-energy, adults-only racing experience in Pittsburgh and do not require General Admission to Kamin Science Center. Open to adults 18+ only.
