Something is lurking in the Ohio River, and it’s up to you and your team of intrepid explorers to help USS Requin escape! Use teamwork and ingenuity to solve puzzles and collect clues throughout the submarine in an exciting new iteration of our world-famous escape room series.
Please note, full mobility is required for this experience. Escape USS Requin is for adults and youth age 13 and older who are accompanied by an adult. Young children are not permitted on board during Escape Rooms. Weather and river conditions may impact this program. Advance tickets are required – walk-ups not available.
At the height of the Cold War, a B-25 Mitchell bomber crashed into the muddy Monongahela River while performing a routine training flight. Was it a simple mechanical error? Or was it something more sinister? Put your detective skills to the test in our escape room experience. Solve puzzles and games about Pittsburgh, USS Requin (SS 481), and Western Pennsylvania’s history and science.
Please note, full mobility is required for this experience. In the case of inclement weather, participants have the option to reschedule their tickets for another day or request a refund.
Carnegie Museums Members: $175 per group (up to 6 people)
Nonmembers: $200 per group (up to 6 people)
Escape USS Requin time slots can be booked by one group per time slot. A minimum of 4 people and a maximum of 6 is required for this experience.
Ticket holders meet staff at the submarine and do not need to enter the main building.
What is the recommended age for this experience?
The escape room experience is designed for adults and youth age 13 and older who are accompanied by an adult. Young children are not permitted onboard during escape rooms.
Is parking included?
Parking is the responsibility of participants.
How do you enter the event?
Board USS Requin from the Riverwalk. A staff member will be ready to greet you up to 10 minutes before your ticket time. Do not enter the main building.
Are food and drink containers permitted?
Open food or drink containers are not permitted inside USS Requin.
Can I take photos during the event?
Participants are not permitted to take photos or videos inside the escape room.
Commissioned on April 28, 1945, as a standard fleet submarine, Requin made its first journey to Hawaii to join the Pacific Fleet at Balboa. State of the art and battle ready when it set out just days before the end of World War II, Requin holds the distinction of being the U.S. Navy’s first radar picket submarine.
