Have you ever wondered how the system behind one of the most dazzling Kamin Science Center experiences works?
The projection system inside the Buhl Planetarium features seven powerful, solid-state laser projectors, each the size of a ream of paper, delivering vibrant on-dome visuals and 3D atmospheric effects that enhance the audience experience.
The new system is also eco-friendly, using less electricity and eliminating the need for water-cooling. The Science Center will save approximately 300,000 gallons of water and over 30,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by around 500,000 pounds.
